The Pros And Cons Of HP Laserjet 2840

Overview
HP Laserjet 2840 was designed in 2007 and it was one of the first color laser printers that could be found on the market, at that moment, at a price fewer than 1000 dollars. The number made of three digits for a color laser printer was definitely what people wanted to see at that time. However, it could not compete with today’s models which are faster and better built.

Pros
HP Laserjet 2840 can hold multimedia cards, which is really good. It means that every person who wants to print something from a media card is able to do it by simply plugging the media card into the printing device.
It can be fax, printer and copier in the same time. Because it is very easy to configure and use, even a beginner will not face any type of troubles. The control panel is made of alphanumeric keypad and LCD screen. Also, there is something that can help the ones who want to use the fax function with a lot of ease. It comes with 5 fast dialing buttons.
It was one of the first laser color printers available on the market under 1000 dollars. In fact, at that moment, there were only two printing devices that were color lasers: HP Laserjet 2840 and Canon image class MF8170c. However, the Canon equivalent was not as good as the HP Laserjet 2840. The HP model was better than the Canon. Nowadays, they cannot measure up to any type of color laser printer, but they are still capable of producing good printings, even though the printing speed is sluggish.

Cons
As I said, the printing speed is very low. It can be acceptable while printing in black and white (20 pages per minute) but in color printing it is sluggish. It is able to print only with a speed of 4 pages per minute. However, this low printing speed is generated only by the ridiculous old printing technology. At that time, every page needed to go four times through the printer, until it came out. The reason why it happened like this is that the old technology used multiple pass color printing.
Another disadvantage of HP Laserjet 2840 is that it is too noisy. When it works, it sounds more like a car than like a color laser printing device.
The reason why it is so loud is that the old technology printing process was so ineffective.
