Kyocera Mita KM 1810
Kyocera has a reputation to uphold in the office equipment market. The Kyocera Mita KM-1810 does the brand proud and continues the tradition of offering good quality machinery at reasonable prices. The KM-1810 is a printer and copier who offers every feature you could ever need.
The mainstay of the KM-1810 is print quality. A printer/copier can have all the features you could imagine, but if it isn’t up to scratch in the reproduction department you may as well not bother. It is of a high standard with text and images both appearing clear and sharp, even down to fine details. It didn’t have problems with image heavy documents like some machines either. It seemed to cope perfectly well with whatever we threw at it. Copying is the same speed and quality as they use the same engine. The copier also has resize and document manipulation options too.
The test document we use in all our reviews is a 24 page PDF containing text at all different points, charts, graphs, images and photographs. It puts a device through its paces and really shows us what it’s made of.
With a print and copy speed of around 18 copies per minute for a typical document, the KM-1810 isn’t the fastest machine in the world, but in return you get a reliable, durable device that won’t let you down. The 250 sheet paper drawer, with the option for a further 250 will keep things moving smoothly. There is also a bypass tray of 50 sheets and an automatic document feeder which can handle another 30.
Toner is good value with high yield cartridges are to print around 7000 sheets. The drum is guaranteed by Kyocera for at least 100000 sheets, or three years as part of the standard warranty. This is an excellent value-add feature of the device. The downside is that once that period is up, any changes or servicing of the drum has to be done by an approved engineer, not by yourself.
This is a great printer and copier device for businesses who value quality over speed. With the Kyocera guarantee and reputation for longevity and reliability, the KM-1810 is a great purchase for the smaller office.
