Konica Minolta Di3510

Our office has used Konica copiers for as long as I have worked here. The latest was the Konica Minolta Di3510, which we are still using now. The first thing to say about it is that is hasn’t broken down once since we got it. The contractor must be laughing as we’re paying for a maintenance contract but haven’t had to use it yet.

The black and grey coloring adds a nice accent to our office. The colors just make it look more businesslike and technical even though it isn’t. The Di3510 can do almost everything, printing, copying and scanning. The scanning is neat because we can do it really quick. Add the documents into the automatic feeder and it will scan them all at around 70 sheets a minute. The quality is good too, with none of the graininess that you get on some scanners. You can also get it to scan to email or to the hard drive, for later collection.

The printer is very good. It prints around 35 pages a minute, which is good. The prints it provides are good quality, all the black is black and all the text is clear and all the lines are straight. Even when printing tiny letters at 3pts, the ink it clear and the letter look good. Printing photos is also very good for a laser printer. We used to have to print them on an inkjet which used to be a pain, but now we can do everything from the one machine.

Obviously the copier is just as good as it uses the same bits as the printer. You can send it print or copy jobs from the PC and they will be ready for you when you get there, which is a neat feature. It certainly saves on having to wait around for everything to be finished.

You can build the Di3510 up with all sorts of options. We just added more paper capacity, which took it up to 4000 sheets, which is the maximum. We also have a document finisher which adds staples or bindings to the booklets we make. That makes all the difference to how many of them we can produce in a day. You can add memory to make it quicker, more paper like us, a hard drive, duplexer for double sided and lots of other options.

The Di3510 is a good printer and copier. We don’t need anything else right now so this should last us a few more years before needing replacement. I would definitely recommend this printer to anyone needing something reliable that doesn’t take a degree in engineering to work, and will do anything you ask of it.
